The Life of a Disciple: A Life of Missions

READ ROMANS 10:13-17: Have someone read the text aloud slowly to the House Church. Have a quiet moment for a minute after reading the passage so people can take time to reflect.

MAIN IDEA
Every disciple must faithfully proclaim the gospel and make Christ known.

SUMMARY OF THE SERMON

  • NEVER NEGLECT THE GOSPEL (v.13)

    • Remembering the seriousness of sin and the hope of salvation reminds us why the gospel must be shared.

    • Three Aspects of the Gospel to Remember:

      • Remember the Problem: We are all sinners facing the righteous judgment of God (Romans 3:23, Revelations 21:8)

      • Remember the Provision: God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus to die for our sins and rise again (Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

      • Remember the Promise: Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13).

  • NEVER NEGLECT EVANGELISM (v. 14-15)

    • Evangelism is not optional for believers. Every disciple has a responsibility to participate in God’s mission

    • People cannot believe in Christ if they have never heard the gospel.

    • God uses His people to proclaim the good news of salvation

    • Every disciple is called to make Christ known

  • NEVER NEGLECT THE WORD (v. 16-17)

    • Not everyone will accept the gospel, even when it is faithfully proclaimed

    • Rejection should not discourage us from sharing God's Word

    • We cannot control people's responses, but we can faithfully point them to Christ.

    • Our goal is not simply to increase church attendance but to help people hear and believe the gospel

    • Faithfulness means continuing to proclaim the Word of God regardless of the results we see.

DISCUSSION QUESTION
What does the gospel mean to you personally, and what keeps you from sharing it with others?
