When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,

Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
— Psalm 114:1-2

Today’s Text: Psalm 114 (Living Life Daily Devotional)

It is late. I have been at the North American Shepherds Conference hosted by New Life Fellowship in Houston all week. The pastors who attended went there to serve the shepherds. It was a blessed time. We worked hard, and I am physically tired. And it is late. But my heart is full.

I’d like to share more about the conference, but for tonight, I will share only a brief devo.

God does not simply have a plan for Israel but for the whole world. Israel was God’s instrument for the unfolding of His plan in Jesus Christ. Now, the instrument is the Church—that is, those who have been saved by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

God’s plan will not be stopped. And even if we may not be able to perceive His plan actively in our lives day to day, it would not be wise to ignore it. Rather, we should pursue His plan as revealed in His word.

Father, Your goodness knows no bounds, and and Your plan will never fail. Help us to see that. Help me to see that so that we may live in the reality of Your will for us. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
