Read Luke 6:39-45: Have someone read the text aloud slowly to the House Church. Have a quiet moment for a minute after reading the passage so people can take time to reflect.

Main Idea: Spiritual blindspots keep us from seeing ourselves accurately. Therefore, we must continually examine our hearts and allow the gospel to transform us so that we may faithfully follow Christ and bear godly fruit.

SUMMARY OF SERMON

1. RECOGNIZE THE DANGER (v. 39-40)
   Jesus warns that spiritually blind people cannot lead others toward God because they cannot see the truth themselves. Since students become like the teachers they follow, believers must carefully evaluate who influences them and ultimately follow Christ, the only perfect and trustworthy guide. Recognizing spiritual blindness is the first step toward avoiding destruction.
   

2. REVIEW OUR BLINDSPOTS (v. 41-42)
   Jesus exposes the hypocrisy of pointing out the sins of others while ignoring our own. Using the illustration of a speck and a plank, He teaches that self-examination and repentance must always precede correcting another believer. The gospel humbles us by reminding us that we are sinners saved by grace, enabling us to lovingly restore others with gentleness instead of pride.
   

3. RENEW OUR HEARTS THROUGH THE GOSPEL (v. 43-45)
   Jesus teaches that our words and actions reveal the true condition of our hearts, just as fruit reveals the nature of a tree. Genuine spiritual fruit cannot be produced through self-effort or behavior modification but only through a heart transformed by the gospel. Just as a driver must continually check blindspots before making a turn, believers must develop the habit of examining their hearts and allowing the gospel to continually renew them. As we remain connected to Christ, the Holy Spirit produces Christlike character and godly fruit that flows naturally from within.
