My Heart

11 Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.13 For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.— Psalm 86:11-13
The Psalms have ministered to me so often in my life. I love how the gospel echoes through the entire Psalter.
My testimony is that I need Jesus every day of my life. That is what Jesus has been teaching me and continues to teach me. He has proven Himself to be faithful over and over again, even when my faithfulness falters. And so I am learning that it is His faithfulness alone that sustains me.
That realization is what it means to fear His name. The deeper that realization sinks into my heart, the greater my devotion is to Him, the less divided my heart becomes.
But my heart is still divided sometimes, which is frustrating to me. And yet, I know that because of His faithfulness, my heart will be made whole and fully devoted to Him. And I will glorify Him forever.
His great love toward me will give me an undivided heart. He has saved me from death, and so nothing is impossible for my Lord.
I look forward to the days when I can be in His presence face to face and praise His name forever with all my heart.
Father, Your love is amazing. Your love knows no bounds. You have rescued me over and over again, and I know You will rescue me from death even. Teach me Your ways, Lord, that my heart may become fully devoted to You and glorify Your name even now. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
