God is extremely concerned with our happiness. But true happiness can only come on His terms, not ours.
Friends
There is God, then there are His people, and then there is the rest of the world. In God’s economy, a person should not want to find themselves grouped with “the rest of the world.” Outside of God’s kingdom, there is no protection from the curse of sin. And most of all, there is no protection from the wrath of God itself. Inside the kingdom of God, we are protected by the blood of Christ that stains the frame of the gates of the kingdom.
Weak Sheep
Protecting my pride is not all that important to me. Of course, no one enjoys having their pride poked. But maintaining my integrity before God is what matters, and for me that is enough. Even so, my integrity is not what saves me at all.
My Longing
I am sick to death of sickness and death. I long for the day when the trials and tribulations and the tragedies of this world will be no more—not just for myself, but for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. But what about those people who do not call on the name of the Lord?
The Gospel
God wants to bless us. And He created this world in order to bless us. And in order to receive God’s blessing, we have to live according to God’s economy—God’s ways, God’s purpose, God’s plan.
