The Blog
See Something, Say Something
God calls us to faithfully proclaim His truth and lovingly point others to Christ.
Cornerstone
When Christ is the cornerstone of our lives, we have a sure foundation that will help us stand firm through every circumstance.
My Longing
I am sick to death of sickness and death. I long for the day when the trials and tribulations and the tragedies of this world will be no more—not just for myself, but for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. But what about those people who do not call on the name of the Lord?
God’s Wisdom
Outside of God’s kingdom, a few fortunate people may find prosperity, but never peace. The vast majority of people outside of God’s kingdom find neither prosperity nor peace. Even if a small minority of people outside of God’s kingdom do find some tiny measure of peace and prosperity, their eternal destiny is still hell. But no one has a right to blame God. That is their choice, not God’s.
The Gospel
God wants to bless us. And He created this world in order to bless us. And in order to receive God’s blessing, we have to live according to God’s economy—God’s ways, God’s purpose, God’s plan.
Gospel Feet
It is the feet of Christ—broken and bloodied by a nail on a cross at Calvary—it is His beautiful feet that come down from the heavenly Mount Zion to bring good news, the gospel, to proclaim and deliver God’s peace forever more.
Witness in Love
God wants us to bear witness with His word, at least. But He also wants us to bear witness with His love, too.
Second Chances
The message of Jonah is ultimately MISSIONAL. In fact, that is the ultimate message of the whole Bible. The application of the revelation of God must always be the mission of God in Christ Jesus to the ends of the earth.
Huge Fish
God has given us His word, by His sovereign grace, for two reasons, at least. First, God gave us His word to reveal who He is so that we might come to faith in Christ Jesus. And second, God gave us His word so that we might live according to His word—to live according to His plan and purpose and design for our lives—that is, to live in the kingdom of God.
Body Parts
The Bible tells us that every local church is critically important in the kingdom of God. And if that is true, then every house church is critically important in the kingdom of God. … No one should blindly take my word for it. We can all read the Bible ourselves from a position of faith (like our passage here) and listen to what the Word of God Himself has to say on such matters. And people can disagree with me all they want. But let no one disagree with Jesus Christ, the Living Word.
